Ex-PAP MP in court: what happened to its wonderful psychoanalytical tests?
Ahmad Khalis Abdul Ghani was found guilty of making a false declaration in a legal document, by a four-man disciplinary committee of the Law Society.
But this story raises more questions than it answers.
First of all, why was this case brought before court only AFTER the elections?
Secondly, why wasn't it reported in The Straits Times before or during the GE.
Thirdly, it gives the lie to the PAP's much-touted screening of candidates.
The PAP always insists that its psychoanalytical tests can weed out unscrupulous people before they are selected to stand as candidates in elections.
MM Lee Kuan Yew, while commenting on the James Gomez case during the elections, boasted about this system, saying people such as James Gomez would have been found out long before he could be nominated.
But here is another example that his wonderful and cherished system has failed. Yet again.
We all know of the numerous cases of PAP ministers and MPs who have been caught short. So we tell the PAP to its face: Get off your moral high horse! Stop talking about defects in other parties when you have your own! You are just as bad as the others!

A damning indictment of the Man, his Methods & His Madness.
What I find SO FRUSTRATING & SO TRAGIC is that despite the evident capability that certain PAP talent possess, NONE HAD THE COURAGE & COMPASSION to tell the DESPOT off in his face or to make him see the truth (and not the drivel that he - whom I firmly believe is a psychopathic, anal, repressive and maniacal bully - chooses to peddle through his propaganda machine with full support from his sychophants).
There is a time and season for all that happens under the sun.
Look. Let's be honest & objective. The PAP has done good - lots of good - for this nation. But by barrelling down this path of insensitive, high-handed & arrogant manner of treating the citizenry, they are also in the process of destroying their legacy. Does it hurt to be more caring, compassionate and courageous and really mean it? Is every soul in the PAP so fearful & self-centred that it refuses to speak up & act for the comman man, the down-trodden and the unpriviledged?
No one is indispensible. NO ONE!!!
If someone had done the Chinese people a favour by doing Mao Zidong in the day after the Chinese Communist Party took power, they would have been spared the famine from the "Great Leap Forward". A generation of intellectual intelligentia would have been saved fom the "Cultural Revolution'. All this happened because someone was permitted to stay too long in power.
POWER CORRUPTS & ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY - such effects are here for all to see and suffer from. USE YOUR VOTES WISELY IN 5 YEARS TIME. DO THE COWARDLY THING AND SERVES YOU RIGHT BECAUSE EVEN FORUMS SUCH AS THESE WILL NOT EXIST - indeed, the technology to murder free expression on the web through filtering is already used by the Chinese Communist Party courtesy of greedy corporations like Cisco System, Google, Yahoo, et al. Mind you, though they are birthed in a culture of free expression, they have no hesitation to help curb it in other places so long as they earn their coin.
IT'S TIME (use this catch-phrase in the next election, Opposition Parties!) to have true & real renewal, not cosmetic hypocrisy. Do we need a dynasty? Can we not find talent other than in one family? The DESPOT obviously did not take the hint when some of his progeny turn out to be less than perfect (yes, I know the kids are innocent) but obviously the DESPOT responded to God with his middle finger by not seeing the error of his ways & seeking forgiveness from the people and instead, continue in his high-handed, arrogant & bullying ways.
Li Ao (controversial Taiwanese political commentator) allegedly said that Singaporeans are stupid. RUBBISH, I say! Yes, Singaporeans are fearful, meek, selfish, self-centred, calculating, greedy, vain, sell-outs and all the other 1001 unflattering synonyms.
But we're NOT stupid. We can see things for what they really are. We merely have not acted courageously and compassionately YET.
Courageous & Compassionate Patriots! Rise Up! Do Your Duty! Fulfill Your Calling! Your children and progeny deserves better! Let not history judge us as deserving of our lamented fate.
I think it is prudence that stopped the publication of this case, before or during the GE. (It was a no-brainer).
Secondly, it does not mean after going through the PAP tests, people are not infallible, they are afterall human.
PAP must admit and continue to upkeep their image (truthfully or hidden) that they are incorruptible. Otherwise, who can vote for whom?
